At Free Rein Adventure, we believe people grow best when they feel genuinely connected — to each other, to their interests, and to the experiences they share.
Our mission is to provide inclusive, experience-led support that helps people grow independence, build practical life skills, and strengthen social confidence in a supportive, values-driven environment.
Whether it’s camping beneath the stars, exploring community spaces, joining creative projects, gathering around shared meals, or connecting with animals or nature, meaningful connection is always at the heart of what we do. We create opportunities for people of all abilities to explore new interests, build friendships, and feel part of a community in ways that are natural, relaxed, and meaningful.
A key focus of our work is helping clients expand positive informal support networks and friendships through shared interests and community participation. We create opportunities for authentic connection — friendships that extend beyond our programs and strengthen each person’s sense of belonging. Every experience is built around our core values of connection, inclusion, integrity, growth, and respect. These values guide how we design experiences, how we support people, and how we build a culture of belonging, respect, and shared achievement.
Our team is made up of passionate facilitators who walk beside participants — supporting them to thrive, not just attend. Our facilitators bring experience across disability support, community engagement, outdoor education, and adaptive facilitation to ensure experiences are safe, purposeful, and responsive to individual goals.
Free Rein Adventure is part of Koda & Blaze Group Pty Ltd and operates alongside Free Rein Wellbeing, offering a broader continuum of support options for people with diverse goals and needs.
Everything we offer is shaped by guiding principles:
Grounded in Nature (in and outdoors)
We recognise that connection with nature — whether physically outdoors or through nature-inspired experiences — supports wellbeing, curiosity, and shared meaning. Our approach weaves natural, social, and experiential elements into programs that are individually paced and purposefully designed.
Guided by Values
We work from an I–Thou relational philosophy — meeting every person in their individuality with presence, respect, curiosity, and inclusion.
Driven by Connection
Connection fuels confidence, wellbeing, and participation. Our programs are intentionally designed to support friendships, shared experiences, and the development of positive informal supports that extend beyond our programs into everyday life.
Presence – We show up fully for one another and for the moment.
Inclusion – Everyone belongs and contributes in their own way.
Respect – We honour people, animals, and the land that holds us and truly appreciate difference and individuality.
Dialogue – We listen with curiosity and value genuine conversation.
Connection – Relationships make every adventure meaningful.
Our programs are designed for people seeking supported, experience-led activities that build confidence, everyday skills, and independence through shared experiences.
Each program has its own focus and requirements, and suitability is based on individual interests, goals, and what support is needed to participate safely and comfortably. We work with each person to find experiences that are a good fit.
Activities vary depending on the program and may include:
Bushwalks and nature trails
Animal interactions
Outdoor cooking and campfire experiences
Creative projects and sensory activities
Community outings
Team-building and life-skill activities
Overnight camps and adventure experiences
All activities are flexible and adapted based on individual comfort levels.

Outcomes vary for each participant and are guided by their individual goals, interests, and support needs. Across Free Rein Adventure programs, participants are supported to build confidence, practical skills, and real-world independence while developing informal social supports and peer connections through shared interests — helping relationships continue beyond the program itself.
Participants may develop:
✔ Increased confidence and willingness to try new experiences
✔ Improved social connection, communication, and participation with others
✔ A stronger sense of belonging and inclusion within their community
✔ Increased independent living skills and everyday decision-making
✔ Capacity building across social, emotional, and practical life skills
✔ Greater psycho-social and emotional awareness and everyday self-management strategies
✔ Practical skills such as planning, problem-solving, teamwork, and responsibility
Programs are designed to align with each participant’s NDIS goals (where applicable), with supports tailored to build skills that transfer into everyday life at home, in the community, and in future independent participation.
